My passion for painting is rooted in nature and the fascination I have for light and shade. This has drawn me to paint through my senses, to share what I’m feeling.
Lucy Q U I N is a Colombian-born, Canadian-from-the-heart painter. She grew up amid Colombia’s mountains and tropical beaches, discovering a great appreciation for nature. Now living in Canada, she finds inspiration in the wonder of the seasons and the incomparable scenery Canada offers.
Always drawn to art, Lucy earned a degree in architecture. Her passion for painting led her to oils, and she refined her technique with private classes and numerous workshops..
From Ontario’s lush farm fields and provincial parks, to Canada’s east and west coasts, Lucy is enchanted by the nation’s landscapes: to a Colombian its four seasons were a revelation, and have had a dramatic impact on her art. She prefers to work in the classic Tonalist/Luminist style, with a contemporary approach that, combined with the spirituality she finds in nature, allows her to create timeless works that radiate mood and emotion.
